If you want to offer baingan, cook a separate plain piece for your dog. It should be soft, unsalted, unseasoned, and chopped or mashed. Do not serve smoky bharta with onion, tomato masala, green chilli, garlic, coriander chutney, or oil-heavy tempering.

Use only a small test portion first: half a teaspoon for small dogs and up to one tablespoon for larger dogs. Monitor stool, vomiting, gas, itchiness, and overall comfort for 24 hours.
