Dog Grooming Terms & Conditions
By booking or using grooming services at Dogsvilla, the pet owner agrees to the following Terms & Conditions.
Last updated: May 2026
1. Health & Vaccination Requirements
- All pets must be in good general health before grooming.
- Pet owners must inform Dogsvilla staff about medical conditions, allergies, injuries, surgeries, skin conditions, medications, behavioural issues, aggression history, seizure history, or tick/flea problems.
- Dogs showing signs of contagious illness, severe skin infection, vomiting, diarrhoea, fever, weakness, or infectious conditions may be refused service.
- Female dogs in heat may not be accepted for grooming for safety and hygiene reasons.
- Vaccination is strongly recommended for all pets visiting the facility, including Rabies, DHPPi, Leptospirosis, and Kennel Cough.
- Dogsvilla reserves the right to refuse grooming if a pet is considered medically unsafe for grooming.
2. Aggressive or Difficult Dogs
- Owners must honestly disclose any history of biting, snapping, fear aggression, handling sensitivity, anxiety, or escape attempts.
- Dogsvilla specialises in handling anxious and aggressive dogs; however, safety remains the top priority.
- Additional handling charges may apply for aggressive dogs, heavily anxious dogs, oversized dogs, or dogs requiring extra staff handling.
- Dogsvilla reserves the right to stop grooming at any stage if the pet becomes unsafe to handle.
- Sedation is not provided by Dogsvilla unless prescribed and supervised by a licensed veterinarian.
3. Matted Coat Policy
- Severely matted coats can cause pain, skin irritation, bruising, hidden wounds, fungal infections, and poor blood circulation.
- In cases of severe matting, Dogsvilla may recommend shaving the coat short for the welfare of the pet.
- The owner understands that removing heavily matted fur may reveal pre-existing skin conditions or irritation hidden under the coat.
- Additional de-matting charges may apply depending on coat condition and time required.
- Dogsvilla will not be held responsible for clipper irritation, redness, minor cuts, skin exposure, or coat unevenness resulting from de-matting procedures.
4. Flea, Tick & Parasite Policy
- Pets with heavy flea or tick infestation may require mandatory anti-tick treatment before grooming.
- Additional sanitation or treatment charges may apply.
- Dogsvilla reserves the right to refuse service in severe infestation cases to protect other pets and facility hygiene.
5. Grooming Risks & Liability
- Grooming involves the use of scissors, clippers, dryers, grooming tools, and nail cutters.
- While every care is taken, grooming carries minor inherent risks, especially with elderly pets, anxious pets, aggressive pets, matted coats, or pets with medical conditions.
- Minor incidents may occasionally occur, including nail quick bleeding, clipper irritation, skin redness, or stress-related reactions.
- In case of a medical emergency, Dogsvilla may contact a veterinarian. Any veterinary expenses shall be borne by the pet owner.
- Dogsvilla shall not be held liable for pre-existing medical conditions, allergic reactions, stress-triggered illness, age-related complications, undisclosed behavioural issues, or natural health complications during or after grooming.
6. Time, Delays & Pick-Up Policy
- Grooming duration varies depending on breed, size, coat condition, temperament, and service selected.
- Estimated completion times are approximate and may vary.
- Owners are requested to collect pets on time after grooming completion notification.
- Additional daycare or holding charges may apply for delayed pickup.
7. Payment & Cancellation Policy
- Full payment must be completed before pet release unless otherwise approved by management.
- Advance booking payment may be required for certain services or large breeds.
- Advance payments may be non-refundable in case of no-show appointments, last-minute cancellations, or repeated rescheduling.
- Promotional packages, loyalty offers, and discounts are non-transferable unless specified otherwise.
8. Photography & Media Consent
- Dogsvilla may take photographs or videos of pets during grooming for social media, marketing, educational content, or customer updates.
- Owners who do not wish their pet to appear in media must inform the staff in writing before service.
9. Safety & Facility Rules
- Only staff members are allowed inside grooming work areas unless permitted by management.
- Owners are requested not to disturb groomers during handling procedures for safety reasons.
- Dogs must be brought on leash or in a secure carrier.
- Dogsvilla maintains CCTV-monitored premises for operational transparency and safety.
